So a few years ago, I got a wild hair up my *** and got this car off craigslist. Paid like 2k for it and it was in great condition for being a Nebraska car. It had a 273, 904 and 7.25 in it. So just a bare bone fun car.

Now I am getting ready to do some fun to it. Already started taking out the 273 and got a 318 lined up to go in. Just doing some rust repair in the engine bay, front end suspension repairing and also new rear end.

I'm the 67-9 Valiant guy around here if you need any advice. That's a pretty clean car! How about some more pics?

Dang, it's the younger brother to my 68.I'll be watching this one.I just got a complete TTI shorty header and dual exhaust system for the 68. I will be posting a install of it in the next few weeks.

I love the look of the car, i have a 4 door Signet and a 2 door post 100 both '69s.
I'll be watching this, i just wish mine were F8 like yours instead of F3. (Both of them)

That is one sweet car!!! Complete sleeper and looks great. Can't wait to see whats up next for it

Wow thanks everyone! Here is a few pictures from the last few weeks of work. Sadly weather and other projects, keep getting in the way and I havent made as much process. So I was able to pick up a 67 charger 8.75 rear end, with a 742 pumpkin for cheap and this is what I am going to use. Havent gotten the 318 yet because I have a space issue in the garage lol. So now on to redoing the front end. All new suspension parts all around and looking into some brakes for it while I am at it

Find some FMJ body spindles, get the BJ adapters from DRDiff and get the 73-6 A body disc prop valve and proper brake lines for the disc swap. The whole set up should be around $300-350

Okay, so where is the best place to get the spindles? Please dont say junk yard cause Nebraska sucks for parts lol

I may be able to hook ya up for $100 + shipping in the next day or so

Okay so some big things have happened since my last update lol. Plans changed as they always do it would seem lol. Take that 318 and put it back where it came from so help me! (lol). Going to the 5.9l Magnum build. Got the motor today and now its off to the machine shop. As sadly the #7 piston was pitted badly. So got to wait and see what goes on from there. Then on top of that, score 74 brakes off a dart. So now that will be done here soon as well. A lot of work and not enough weather left.

Hey everybody,
Just wanted to stop by and say that firstly I am not dead and neither is the car. Life and weather have been affecting my ability to do the project. (also another car got in the way too). So now since the weather is back and my health is somewhat straight I can start working on the car again.
So here is the start. Firstly working on a a disc brake swap. Got a pair from a 1974 duster or dart, can't remember cause got them last year. So starting on that as a first major project. Also going to qa1 upper and lower control arms with this as well. Then just other stuff in that too.
Motor has been delayed as the block i bought last year is a dud. So now sourcing a different 360 to put in the car. Might end up just going with a LA instead of a Magnum but it all depends on what I find. On that note was able to get some rust repair done on the engine bay last year but need to go back and do more.
Rear end is currently getting worked on as well. Getting it sandblasted and powder-coated. Then have to rebuild my dif. A project I am thinking about taking on myself. Just to learn how to do it that stuff.
So that I where I am at and have a few pictures as well. Thanks everyone!

Okay more updates.
Started to do more of the engine bay. Money is slightly an issue right now, so haven't gotten around to buying some car stuff. So at the moment just tackling stuff i can do. Which starts with stripping down the engine bay and getting it ready to be painted. Also found out that to remove stuff, i have to remove stuff in the interior. (Been just so much fun there).
So the last few days, I have removed the bench seat and the steering wheel. Also had a chance to clean up some brake parts. So cleaned up rust and put some paint on them.
Another positive is that I have been able to score a new motor. It is currently at the machine shop getting checked to make sure its good. Once that is done, we will decide what is the best course. Though I am leaning towards doing a stroker motor at this point. Original idea being a turbo but eh, things change. So here is some pictures,

Hope everyone has been enjoying so far.

Alright so finally got the backseat out and got the rubber lining out of the car. So needless to say I am happy to see that floor does not look like **** (lol). Now I am figuring what to do about the floor. Need to remove rust and do some rust proofing. The only problem I have is that I don't know if i want to put carpet in or not. I know I probably should at minimum put some soundproofing down but not sure after that.
Next idea I currently have is that I am thinking about doing a mini tub since everything is out and done. Not sure on that one, any inputs here???
Also pictures!

Hey guys,
No the project is not dead and neither am I (or so I think anyway lol). The old saying is that time makes fools of us all and has been that way for me. This year has been rough. 2 surgeries (one major and one minor) and then buying a house. So I haven't had much a chance to work but I have been collecting parts and getting odds and ends done.
List of stuff done and or collected:
1). 11x3 back drum breaks. (is it a alot for my small car probably? but i got a good deal on them)
2). 8.75 rear end has had the spring perches moved in and has been powder coated. Need to have gears and axles yet but will cross that road sooner or later.
3). Bought some cool off brand centerline wheels. Once again good price, probably wont be able to use rears because of spacing issues but eh whatever.
4.) Finally ordered qa1 upper and lower tubular control arms plus adjustable strut rods
5.) Most of the front break stuff has been cleaned and ready to be assembled just gotta do it.

So now future plans. I need to rewire the whole car yet at. The whole interior is still out of the car and and I need to redo the floor. Just a never ending list

Here is hoping to a good 2019

The floors look good, you are very lucky.
If you put a carpet in, it would be better in my opinion, but don't throw the rubber mat flooring away, a lot of people are looking for good ones.
Maybe reuse it and save a couple of hundred bucks and call it done, it's all up to you............
I would mini tub the car now, why not?
These Valiants need all of the space you can get for bigger meats out back.
I sure wish mine were dark green!
BTW, i just love the 4 doors!

Love these builds ! watching and enjoying, thank you for sharing

I am thinking about carpet but i am not sure yet because the plan for the car is to go very fast straight. I would reuse the rubber mat but it was pretty destroyed once everything came out and got a little moldy i think.
The thought has crossed my mind to mini tub it now. Though I think that as long as i can get a 275 tire under it i will be okay. Though i might just mini tub it now. Though everyone tells me that I should move spring perches and all that when i do it, so its done. Just eh for me at the moment.
Thank you very much!

So also another parts update for people. Scored some nice heads, while they were bought a few years ago guy never bolted them onto a car. So I was able to get this stuff today"Magnum heads, purchased from J&E. they have been pocket ported (thought i think more could be done. I don't know, engine guy will help me lol), added 2.02 /1.62 stainless valves. Then also Included in the buy: heads, bolts, gaskets, fabbed valve covers, breather/PCV, stock rocker arms, Crane stud conversion kit, Stainless SBC 1.6 roller rockers. So my $900 purchase lol

If you want to put 275s on it, i doubt that you will be able to without a mini tub and spring relocation on your car.
Might as well do it now while it's apart!
It sure would look good with 275s on it though.............
BTW, i think you got a good deal on the heads etc.
