Solid Valiant - running and driving project, but needs some finishing.
Solid car with decent paint but several paint defects (some cracks, dents and wavy spots) and is in primer around the windshield, from a previous owners windshield replacement.
Trans went out last year (lost reverse) so just put a brand new 727 TCI trans from Summit in with B&M 2000 Torq Master 2000rpm torque converter Last week. Just got it running again and got it moving, working out the kinks.
Motor is 1988 318 roller w/ motor stock cam & heads, 340 intake, 340 exhaust manifolds, new 2-1/2” exhaust with h-pipe from accurate exhaust with turbo mufflers. Runs good but engine smokes a little, I think its running rich, currently has Holley vacuum secondary 750 installed but I have a edelbrock 600 too. Motor was in my scamp before I pulled it for a bigger motor swap. Needs some more tuning as it smokes less with the edelbrock but runs better with the Holley. New alternator, nice champion aluminum radiator with electric fan, runs 195F all day.
8.8 ford rear axle from 90 explorer with 3.73 posi gear and 10” drum brakes. Full width - not cut - so not much room for wider tires. Large bolt pattern wheels with dog dish on rear and small bolt pattern on front (215/70r14 tires fr & rr)
Manual steering - a little workout to steer when going slow, manual drum brakes, new shocks all around.
Interior needs headliner (missing), rear shelf panel (missing) and new window seals to be presentable.
Recovered seats and carpet thru Legendary 2 years ago.
