I know this is a long shot.
BUT, anyone by chance have an original decklid that they can measure the distance from the bottom edge of the decklid to the center of the hole where the clip stud goes thru

I am adding a moulding pkg to a car and if avail it make it a lot easier to get the moulding in the right place

many thanks in advance
Bill

Let me ask you this;

Do you have the corner trim, that goes above the bumper, on each of the cast metal quarter panel corner extensions?

Here is what I have seen on the '71 and '72 Darts that had this trim ;

Each one had the decklid trim at slightly different heights on the decklid, against the edge, because of how the decklid fit against the quarter panels.

If I were you, I would install the corner trim pieces first, because they screw into the bottom edge of the metal, if I remember correctly.

Then, I'd get the decklid adjusted perfectly, with new weatherstrip, and put the trim where I wanted it, in relation to the corner trim.

When I painted the Scamp, I adjusted the corner extensions to fit the quarters nicely. This may also be something you want to do, before gauging the decklid trim against the corner pieces.

Basically, the idea is to just get the trim fitted where it should be, in relation to good fitting panels and extensions and put the holes where you need them, for your specific car. Each car fit up differently at the factory, when it was spot welded and bolted together and usually can use adjustment, anyway.

Hope this helps.

If you look around at different references for decklid to quarter fitment, you will see how different each car is and how your own adjusting can make all the difference in how that trim will also look, against the corner trim;

This one is high in the center, the latch could use to come down, even if it squishes the weatherstrip a bit and needs time to settle, to open and close easy-

These two cars fit differently as well. The '70 on the left with the trim looks like the decklid sits low on the left side and level on the right. The '71 on the right looks like it is fairly level, possibly a touch high in the center/ both sides.

This corner trim looks like it mounts through the face, about 1/16" above or level with the edge, which is what I believe the factory was going for.

I think that getting a trim hole measurement from another car may not help you, because of how different each car is. Just put the trim flush at the edge and go for it.

Thanks for the pics. I have all 3 pieces and kind of figured it would be a fit then drill issue to make all 3 pieces fit nice and even.
The rear bumper is off and may try to do some fitting tomorrow
