1970 Dart Swinger- Slow and not-so-Steady

Hello FABO, I'm new here so I decided to stop wasting time and make a restoration journal while I just started!

Though I can't seem to find any pictures from when I first got her, here she is now, my 1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 318 auto in (correct me if im wrong) top banana. she used to have a black vinyl top, which has since dissapeared.

the SWINGER!!!!

the body is very straight, with only one small dent and some small surface rust. well, i lied. there is one or two pretty badly rusted areas. like this:

Now, not too long ago, a couple days ago in fact, I picked up a 1970 Dart Swinger, for the huge sum of $600. (my hood scoops sitting on top for fun, the hood is already pre-drilled for them :glasses2:)

crappy black paint job, quite a few bits and pieces missing, some dents and dings, BUT it is ALMOST rust free! spare the passenger side floorboard, everything is solid. including.....THE ROOF!

the best part is, it came with some cool parts. the dog dish hubcaps are aftermarket, but luckily the yellow swinger came with some original plymouth dog dish rims, sitting around in the shop.

the black dart, however, does have new tires, new kyb shocks, flowmaster exhaust, new bushings, some good rust free panels, and a 318 engine that, though not running due to a missing radiator and battery, is pretty much complete. plus it has some niiiiice seats. Let me know if you want any parts from it.

my dad thinks we should transplant the black darts entire roof and replace the hole-ridden yellow's roof. any thoughts? is it worth it? or will some filler and sanding do the job better?

today i got a little more work done on the yellow dart, got the front windshield out. my dad managed to crack the hell out of it on the way out, but it had a small crack anyway and was going to be discarded. we dont have that much experience in bodywork and the like, so we are just doing what seems to make sense. though that didnt fare too well for the windshield.

thats why im so glad to be a part of fabo! i hope you guys dont mind me asking lots of questions on my way to restoring this dart to top shape. thanks for reading and I will try my best to keep you all posted. not that you want to hear of my little project, it just makes me feel a little busier :razz:

the 1973 340 4 speed Duster that used to be mine, until a few days ago when my uncle took my dad up on an old offer that he could have the car if he fixed it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the doors on the yellow car from a 73-76 A-body? They don't have wing windows and the door handles aren't correct for the 70-72 models. You can look at the black car and compare the 2. The black car's are correct.
 
you are right, i knew the doors weren't model correct, i just didn't exactly know what they were from. thank you for the info! im not sure if it bothers me too much though. I could take the model correct doors from the blackie, but then i would have to repair the dents and lock mechanisms.
