Hi guys! Bought this poor car this saturday , original fj5 340 4 speed go wing car , missing a lot of stuff but still worth restoring , ive seen that only 1 414 sublime duster were made in 1970..and this one was with a 4 speed and shipped to canada..so might be even rarer.***i first bought it for parts...but didnt know it was loaded and rare like that : ( didnt expect to keep it !!!)..enjoy the pics !! Let me know what you guys think of it !! TO RESTORE OR TO CUT FOR PARTS ?

It looks like it has good bones. I'd save it and bring it back to full glory.

More pics of the shell : another roof comes with the car , the owner told me that the car had a bad accident and the roof was damaged so a second roof comes with it..body overall is very rough , but everywere were the a-bodies were rusting this one is very solid ! Its more the outside of the shell that bothers me

They repop all the outside metal, reskin it. Problem solved. Rare ones like this get rarer and rarer each passing year, snag it, and restore it. Dayum, somebody went nuts with the green paint.

Told me that everything that was green was original from factory
I see green spray on the steering column, I'm not sure that was factory. Looks like someone shot it without masking off the steering column. I may be wrong though. My steering column does not have any paint spray on my 70 Swinger. I also see green on the upper control arm, I am pretty sure that is over spray there. I also say restore it, it does not look real bad rust wise, and like said alot of the sheetmetal is available.

It would cost a small fortune, but it is a great color, 4speed and has a go wing which is pretty rare. If I were restoring it too keep it, I would be all in. Restore it for re-sale you will lose your shirt.

I say restore it since i am spending your $$$$ !! if yo do, get a good parts car to go with it.

it will keep you out of troble for years! good luck!

Brakelines, UCAs, steering columns, and brake MC gaskets are not painted body color from the factory. It looks like somebody attempted to start a halfassed resto on it at one time.

You guys are right for the shooting but i went to see the car again and i was able to scratch the cheap paint with my fingernails and manage to find the original fj5 paint underneath so...it helps , i want to save it..even if the roof needs to be changed and the quarter panels too...all the rest seems to be very solid , of course the rocker panels and the lower of the doors and some places are rusted but still very solid , too bad that a 70 is not as nice compared to a 1971 with the grille dans black hood

You did a great job brining your barracuda back from "a heap of crap" status, you can do it here as well! Btw, how are things coming on that GTX (?) that you bought a year or 2 back?

Talked with canadian fellows...this car is around 1 of 210 fj5 dusters 340..no 4 speed /727 +j81 code go wing productions...pretty sure its extremly rare , and it was build to canada specs too..
