I am wanting to replace the original ignition switch on my 70 Duster non tilt column. Is this a part that a guy is better off finding nos on ebay like turn signal switches? Or are the reproductions ok? If so are there any that are superior?

I would (try to) do two things.........find either NOS or used, and then install at least one relay to relieve loads on the switch. Ignition 1 and ACC, a relay for both A relay on the ignition circuit IN the engine bay will also help cure the voltage drop problems which cause over voltage from the charging system
