Skate And Destroy
For sale is a 1971 340 engine block. This is for the block and main caps only, no rotating assembly, cylinder heads or valve train. I will include the windage tray. Lifter valley is painted with Glyptal to aid in oil drain back.
The engine was running as recently as December of 2014. In October, it went 12.20 @ 110.8 in my Duster.
There were no known catastrophic failures with this block - no spun bearings, cracks, damage to machined surfaces etc.
That said, the block is .030" over. The engine had been together since the '90s and was starting to exhibit signs of wear. There is some light scuffing on the cylinder walls likely from piston rock and the rings being worn. One of the rear freeze plugs was leaking coolant.
The block for sale is what's in the pics. It's on a stand so it can be inspected.
