I'm finally starting to re-assemble my 71 Demon, It's nice to put things back together for a change!! I need some help with this radio brace though. When I got the car, there was no radio with it, a couple of years ago I parted out a 1973 Dart 4 door with A/C, I kept the radio and brace from it to use in my Demon. But I can't for the life of me figure out how the side brace is susposed to fit, is the brace different between 71 and 73 or does A/C make a difference, or rallye dash vs. standard dash, or am I just too dumb to figure out how this thing fits??

Just going off of what I've seen, but the braces are different from '71-73. The '71 bracket mounts to the back of the radio. I'm in the same boat, '71 Scamp using a '74 radio. On the later year radios, the short end of the bracket goes against the radio and the long end gets screwed to the front edge of the dash frame. You'll have to drill a hole in the dash frame if you want to attach the bracket. For now, I'm just resting the bracket on the inside of the dash. If you want, I'll try to get a picture of mine.

Thanks for the info. I'll try it this afternoon and see how it fits. I don't think I'll need a picture, thanks for the offer though.

Turn the bracket up so the end with the 90 degree bend is above the radio. It should line up with the defroster control attaching point.

Cool idea, I don't have my heater controls in yet but I'll have to remember this when I get to that point. Thanks!

LOL, my bad. I thought it was a quick-fix idea. My car had an aftermarket stereo when I got it, and I never really paid attention to how the radio was attached in any of my other cars. Thanks for the info.
