This has been talked about alot in other threads but I wanted to clarify one cloudy part:

Wheel colors changed from body color to semi-gloss black in May 1971. My question is that people were saying that wheels before May 1971 with poverty caps were body colored, but wheels before May 1971 with full wheel covers were semi-gloss black. Does anyone concur?

So, to clarify, has anyone seen a car made before May 1971 that had body colored wheels with full wheel covers?

Body color with hub caps, black with full wheel covers.

If there is, it was most likely done by the dealer and not by the factory. Such as a customer telling the dealer "I'll take that car, but I want the full wheel covers on it". Stuff like that happened all the time.
Not to say that one NEVER slipped out of the factory that way, but that was the intent. With Ma Mopar, you can never say never.

Above post #3 is the truth. We swapped tire and rims a lot when I was working at the dealer. Plus it kind of like engine colors, never say never with Ma Mopar. What ever was there at the end of the run went on that car to get it out the door.
