Regrettably putting my long term project up for sale to save my business.
1972 Plymouth Duster- Originally 318- 904 auto- 7 1/4 car.
I don't know the original color of the car -maybe green. It is in black epoxy primer and has been stored inside for the last 12 years. Here a run down:
BODY:
Very very straight body with only minor rust in the trunk pan that is so small that I was just going to fiberglass over it and paint. Absolutely zero rust in the car anywhere else. Non-vinyl top car
I planned on converting this to a Demon because that's what I want and couldn't find a decent one at the time- and I really just never planned on selling this.
That being said. the whole nose ( 1971 fenders ,hood and valance) were sent off and had all dings taken out and the underside of the hood media blasted to remove surface rust. All front sheet metal is a straight as a pin and ready to be final blocked for paint.
Have a VERY nice 71 grille with one tab broken under the left headlight.
Have nice hood/ fender trim.
Front bumper is fiberglass.
Rear bumper is a decent driver meaning it needs to be rechromed to be nice.
Nice outside door handles
Have all door/trunk locks and keys
Have a good Demon tailpanel (used) and near perfect taillights
Floors are perfect and under the hood (aprons).
The 72 Duster tailpanel is still on the car and does have some small rust on the lip under the area where the lights attach but is inside. (cannot be seen with the lights installed)
Original Duster taillights are LONG GONE-
INTERIOR:
Original white bucket seat interior- Still with the car. Does need seat covers on the front. rear is decent.
dash pad is black and perfect
Dash was converted into a 68 rallye dash that looks great and all the wiring is done- plug and play.
I believe that the car was originally a column shift but now has a cherry floor shift/ manual steering column that was all refurbished. factory black 72 steering wheel.
NICE original white door panels with maybe 2 or three minor blemishes.
NICE black soft arm rests
NO carpeting
Nice kick panels
NO cardboard headliner
NEW rear shelf package tray
SUSPENSION/ UNDERCARRIAGE :
8 3/4 a body rear that was shortened for the mini tub that was performed. Very nice job done on body. Dutchman in Portland Oregon performed the axle housing shortening and big bolt axles ( have original bearing on the axles -look great- and have green bearings in the boxes to go with)
3.55 sure grip 489 case installed.
10" brakes for rear Large bolt pattern
10" drum up front. Small bolt pattern
340 T-bars
Have front sway bar
Refurbished manual steering box sprayed silver and cleared
Nice rust free used fuel tank
Only have steel wheels at this time on the car as rollers.
Have a excellent running 318 with a no nonsense 904 trans. Engine ran perfect when pulled this summer.Trans worked fine. Engine has an edelbrock performer intake/ carb and chrome valve covers.
Had planned on installing a 440/727.
Here's a list of goodies that I acquired over time to put on the car. THESE GO WITH THE CAR.
1.Original TUFF wheel- black with the correct adapter- could be used as is but rubber is loose and old.
2.Console with brackets 70-up woodgrain. have INCORRECT 69-down chrome shifter.
3. Extra Demon Doors with glass and regulators
4. Two extra deck lids- one Hemi Orange with cut outs and one light green with cutouts
5. ALOT OF EXTRA STUFF THAT I CAN'T EVEN REMEMBER- Bushings, body gasket kit, 72 Duster taillight gaskets, windshield gasket- all new in packages.
6. 72 Duster drivers side fender- good condition in black primer but did have prior damage repaired.- no rust
