I am offering my 1972 gold duster that I purchased from the son of the original owner (now deceased). I will tell you to the best of my knowledge the good and the bad about the car. According to the son, the only paint work that was ever done was a scratch or ding was repaired below the body side moulding on the passenger side door. Appears to have been done by a backyard body/paint person, it appears that the paint was put on too thin and certain angles you can see through it and possibly see areas of gray primer, it's not very obvious, but when you compare it to the rest of the side of the car, you can tell that it doesn't match. There is a stain in the paint below the gas cap. The carb. needs to be rebuilt, it cranks for awhile after sitting for a few weeks and has a slight hesitation until warmed up. I took it out this weekend and a front brake started to drag, the brakes have never been worked on since new. The gas gage does not work and it needs a new turn signal switch. As the photos show, original owner added delay wipers and a fuel performance gage, both easy things to remove for originality. The original washer bottle is cracked, I have a new repro. to go with it. Besides some exhaust work, only the water pump is not original to the car. An aluminum fan blade has been installed, the original fan blade, belts and hoses are in the trunk. I did not lift the green carpet under the back window to see what it's covering, but judging by how the car was kept by the original owner, it was probably put back there to prevent sun fading. You can see under the sheep skin seat covers that the seats are very nice. Original spare never out of trunk. Original window sticker and other paperwork incuded. 6 cylinder, power steering, manual brakes, automatic. Asking $17,500.00. Located in ZIP 18052 two hours away from Carlisle. I reached the maximum number of photos allowed. Where will you find another unmolested original like this ?
