I find myself needing to sell one of my projects way earlier than I had hoped. What I have here is a 1972 318 Satellite that was built on the first day of 1972 production at the St. Louis plant. The VIN is 206. The car is very solid but is definititely a major project. The interior is toast and it has not run in who knows how long. I have started the body work and you can see most of the work in my project thread about this car.

I have pulled the engine and tranny as I was planning on shooting the enginie compartment and jambs as soon as the body work was done. The car was originally gold with a tan interior. Bench seat, column shift automatic, a/c and not much else as far as options go. I planned on cloning it into a Road Runner and have already gotten the hood for it. I also planned on making it blue and white. I've got the white headliner already and I started to paint the trunk metallic blue. If you want I will include a gallon of the base coat with the car if you want to keep this color scheme. I will also include a set of hood and roof strobe stripes. I planned on using white for those.

I have a bunch of pics posted on Cuda-Challenger.com

Forgot to mention - This car has no rust on the floors or frame rails and is very solid. It has had the driver door and quarter panel replaced due to an accident some time in the distant past. I welded a patch into the lower passenger quarter panel and that was the only metal work I had to do. There is a couple of small rust spots in the roof from the factory vinyl but these can easily be duraglassed.

I will take more pics of the car as soon as I can push it outside for a better view.

I didnt see the front vallance. Why is there no title? What exactly is missing from the car,and i dont mean drivetrain stuff.Does it have an 8.75 rear,or 8.25?Do you have the scoops for the hood?

Front valance is in the trunk along with a bunch of other parts. Car is pretty much complete - only missing underhood a/c stuff. Interior is all there but needs full redo. Tail lights are beat up and will need replacing. I have 2 rear bumpers, both of which would need some straightening & rechroming. It has a 8.25 with unknown gears. Yes, I have the scoops for the hood. No title because I bought it as a parts car as did the guy before me. It had tags on it from 1984 when I bought it. It has no been on the road in a LONG time. After I looked at it I realized the body was too rust free to trash, so I decided to start on it. Now time and money have conspired against me. I really need to fix my daily driver and am short on cash and will not put the repairs on a credit card so this thing has to go.

Man i wish i had the cashfor it.I really been looking a 71 or 72 satellite,or roadunner body to continue with my 71 roadrunner clone, since all my stuff, minus the satellite hull ,got stolen a couple years ago.I would put my 71 dart for sale, minus the drivetrain, but im afraid your car would be long gone by the time i got the cash in hand for mine, lol.

Forgot to mention - I am willing to trade for a daily driver. Prefer quad cab truck, full sized car or even a decent driving /6 Duster that is ugly (I don't mind doing a little paint work as long as it is solid and runs good).

For what it's worth, I am continuing to work in this car. I have gotten almost all of the body work done on it now and have pulled the busted windshield. I plan on painting the jambs by the weekend and will paint the entire car shortly thereafter. At that point, the price will, naturally, adjust higher. I also plan on continuing on after that if the car has not sold.

Okay, since nobody bit on it when it still needed some more body work and paint, I went ahead and finished up the body and painted it. I still need to wet sand and buff it but the body looks pretty good. There are a few dings that I missed in the deck lid (dagummit) but otherwise it is pretty straight.

Price would now higher but still less than what you could have bought it and had a shop paint it for...

That being said, I will continue to work on it until it either becomes my daily driver or someone buys it so that I can get my RC back on the road (or at least get another daily driver).

Here are some pics of the car outside - looks a heckuva lot better in the sun 8) Goona wet sand and buff it sometime in the next few days...

Then, on goes the white vinyl roof and stripes. Next step, if not sold, drop the engine and tranny back in...

Ordered the vinyl top material yesterday. The vinyl top and stripes will be installed by next weekend...

Anybody interested at $3500.00 with the top & stripes installed?

Oaky - I am continuing to work on it as time & $$ allows. I have upgraded the wheels & tires (thanks Tem!), installed the white canopy vinyl top, and installed the hood to fender stripes and engine callouts. I still need to hit it with the buffer a little more which I plan on doing this weekend.

Surely someone wants this....

Okay - thought I had it sold but "buyer" dissappeared without sending the promised deposit or returning my call.

BTW - just want to make it clear - the paint is very very pretty but it is not a show car finish. There are a few dings that I missed especially on the deck lid and there are some imperfections in the paint as well. Nothing terrrible - matter of fact I can't even get a picture of them to come out clearly enough for you to see them. Overall, I'd say the paint is a solid 7.5to8 out of 10.

Here's a few updated pics - enjoy
