Howdy,
We have a rebuilt steering column for a 73’ duster and we’re struggling to decode the wiring cluster from the column. It doesn’t match up with the field service manual or anything we’ve found online so far. Any help is appreciated.

This seems to be a common complaint. Make a "truth table. There are some extra wires, for such as the "key in" lighting/ switch etc

The main switch has
Main power in, normally large red
Accessory power out normally large black
"igntion run" or ign1 many years dark blue
IGN2 bypass circuit normally brown
start, normally yellow

So "ohm" them out ACC should go to power in both in run and acc
"run" should go to power in ONLY in run, and not start or acc
IGN2 and the start wire should be with power in only in start They are however separate circuits
