Thanks to all whom can help. I am trying to attach my vinal top trim. I ordered clips from R/T specialties. The problem I am having is getting the trim to snap down over the clips. I can snap the clips in place on the trim. Once the clips are in the trim it is impossible to put the clips over the welded pins that are in the roof. If I put the clips over the stud then try to slide trim over It wont sit flush to the roof and comes off easy. Any help is appreciated. See photos.

You should be able to put the clips on the studs and then snap the chrome on. I kind of hook the chrome on one side of the clip then bump it with my hand to snap it over the other side. I'm not sure you have the right clips. Your pic looks like the clips just hold on one end (the right side in the pic with the clips in the chrome.). I believe mine were made the same on both ends (with the slot for the stud in the middle) so they would hold better.

MOBodyman,

Where did you get your clips? R/T specialties has always done a good job in getting the right stuff for me. I can get the clips to work somewhat but the trim is raised up off the vinal top like a 64th of an inch. It does not look right. It comes off easy also. I did try the method you described but so far it has not worked. The roof flex is causing issues when beating the trim. The car has fresh paint and I am affraid to hit to hard. Just a side note the glass guy came over and thought the clips were wrong also. So I ordered a set from R/T and they came the same. I dont remember where the first set came from. I had them in stock. A picture or web link for your clips would be great. Thanks Tod

Slappy,
I haven't purchased any replacements for my car yet. I think I only have one good clip. I'll see if I can find it and take a pic for you. If it has a p/n on it I was going to try to order some through the dealer. Sometimes they come through with parts you would think were long obsolete.
