I am at the point where I need service wire to run from my houce to my garage and hope that someone on here may be able to hook me up. I went to a few of my local hardware stores and could not believe how much this stuff has went up. What I am in need of it rougly 200 feet of 2/OTT underground wire/cable with ground.

If you can help me please pm or email me at [email protected]

Thank You!

What is OTT cable? I am not familiar with that. When I ran service to my shop, I used 100 amp aluminum mobile home wire. Works like a charm and passed inspection the first time around.

Are you looking for single copper 2/0 cable or 2/O underground triplex. Around here home depot, Menards, and possibly Lowes would have the aluminum underground triplex or URD type cable. If you need the copper as some local codes may want you will probably have to go to an electrical supply store. Most are wholesale only but will generaly sell you some cable as most know that alot of times home center stores just don't have the right things. The aluminum underground is way cheaper but is much more difficult to get through your entrance ells and into the panel lugs. Also you may need to go up a size to carry the load you are after. How large a service are you installing?

Yes, 2/O underground triplex with ground is what I am looking for. :)

I ran 2/0 to my garage last year inside grey conduit, just in case something went wrong, then I could pull it out of the conduit without having to dig up the cable. Cost me around $300 for 70' of it. I had someone tell me to go with aluminum, I believe if its buried it could be to code. Do yourself a favor if your burying it, put it inside a conduit.

Yup. I got the 2/0 triplex with ground in aluminum. 100' was like 89 bucks. That was in 2003 though.

Schedule 40 PVC electircal conduit is cheap, under 3 bucks a 10 ft. section. I would highly recommend it. Sorry, no spare cable though.

Can Anyone Tell Me If This Will Work?

Yes! Grab it! I assume you're not calling your electrical inspector? Drive a ground rod for the garage service and ground everything there. Find some help if you've never done it. Use 2" PVC conduit and fittings as someone else said. Use pulling lube to get the cable through the conduit between the LB's. Everything is at Lowes, Depot or Menards if you have them. Sport

I wouldnt buy that. You said you needed 200 feet so now your going to have a juction box in the ground???? Wait until you have the funds and buy 200 ft of what you need. IMHO

I'd grab it up, use what you need and sell the rest on craigslist.

Craigs add stated 500' roll with 100' of it previously used on the roll shown. Total deal is for 600' at a GREAT price!
