2001 dakota

Recently purchased 2001 Dakota. Would like an owners manual. 3.9 at, shortbed. Any comments on past problems with this model?

Ball Joints and trannys are the problems as far as I know. I had a 98, great truck, the 3.9 was a little under powered on the highway though. Lots of down shifting. Mine had the 30" tires and 390 gears. Would love to get a 4.7L quad cab.

I have an 02 and the only problem I have had with it is the ball joints. On it's 3rd set now and only has 67,000 miles. If you have trouble with yours they might warranty them as they have mine every time and I didn't buy the truck new. The dealer told me they extended the warranty on them to 150,000 miles due to the problems.

You might find a manual on E-bay. I found a service manual on CD there for mine for $15
