273 badge placement

I'm replacing my V-8 emblems with 273 Four Barrel emblems (67 Dart).

Which of the original holes should I use? I.E. on the drivers side - place the forward pin of the 273 badge in the forward most V-8 badge hole, drill a new hole for the rear pin ... ?

Well ok then! Can somebody that has one on their car tell me how far it is from the front edge of the fender to the front of the emblem?
