273 Commandos - What's your oil pressure reading @ idle, cruising & WOT? Is worth swapping to MOPAR hipo distributor vs. stock elctronic distributor ?
1.) I know it will vary depending on type of oil and mods so state what you've done to your 273 and what's the oil press. # Currently mine is between 37.5 to 40..273 Com. .515/.525 cam / 650 Holley double pumper.
2.) I'm shifting at 6000rpm on new stock electronic distributor (for 318 '70 Challenger). Any measurable power gains or RPM gains going to a MOPAR high perfromance distributor?

Looking forward to your insight fellas...thanks

A distributor shouldn't affect your oil pressure.

Oil pressure is determined by the oil pump, pressure spring, bearing clearances, oil viscosity, idle speed, and a few other minor factors.

What's the difference between the "standard" MP electronic distributor and the MP high performance distributor? If it's just the curve, I would just get the recurve springs for the distributor and recurve the stock one. The spring kit is under $10, how much more is the high performance distributor?

I know the distributor does not affect oil pressure...I just edited my post to avoid anymore confusion.

I'll look into the spring kit as the new distributor is around 200.00...Thanks

Try using one of the light springs from the spring kit, and the lighter spring that came in the distributor. That's what worked best in my 340...
