Hi everyone,
I know the 273 adjustable rockers will work on a 318 but unsure about oiling.
I'm going to run a hydraulic cam in the 318 but the 273 is solid, will this affect the rocker arms, ie....is the 273 an oil through pushrod, etc, etc??
The 273 is still in the car(66 Valiant) and I drive it everyday but wearing out...burns and leaks oil like crazy.
Going to buy a 70 318, do a budget rebuild and want to use the 273 rockers. That will be a temp replacement. Guy only wants $75 for the motor, said it ran when pulled a few years ago.
Any help is appreciated!!

273 rockers will work fine on a 318. I actually prefer the 273 rockers over the non-adjustable rockers. With a hydraulic cam you will have to adjust the lifter pre-load, but that is pretty straightforward. Where are you in Colorado?

Yup. Ran 'em on my 340, and now have 'em on my 360 "interim" engine.

They work great on other small blocks. You will need different pushrods with cup/ball arrangement. Most valvetrain companies have them in stock.
