Hi all,

Newb here. Getting into classic cars again, I've previously owned everything from a '58 VW Beetle with factory ragtop sunroof to a '63 Ply. Valiant with /6. Now I drive a '04 Toyota Tacoma double-cab, which has never given me a problem. However, now that I am getting a little older and have a LITTLE money to play with, I am looking for something with a little more character.

I met a new co-worker a few months back that told me about his hobbies and he used to be a pretty serious Mopar guy. He had a 1st gen. Roadrunner and a '68 Barracuda that he just sold to allow him to take the job with our employer. Anyway, having talked with him about all things Mopar for the last couple of months, I've learned a lot. I have been learning also on my own that Chrysler didn't mess around during the muscle car hey-day and it's apparent how exciting a time it was. I have to say, I never considered them all that special :banghead: (I was ignorant, sorry!) and in my mind ranked them third amongst the "other two" Detroit manufacturers. Little did I know...

So on top of this, I recently saw a nice '68 Barracuda the other day and it's now got me chasing...

Without knowing better, I would be interested in the '68 fastback (love the round marker lights!), matching numbers if possible, in avocado green poly or any of the whites or any of the factory blue colors except midnight blue, with a 340 (or possibly a 318 ), no pref. on the trans. About the only mods I would be OK with would be front discs and A/C if the car didn't come from the factory with. What I don't know is if power steering of power brakes were even an option in '68? Of course, I would prefer a car that spent much of its life in a dry area (CA, AZ, NV, NM, UT). Condition is not extremely important, depends on price.

I have some searching and some learning to do so I'm in no rush.

Anyway, just wanted to share and am happy to have joined this forum site. Hoping to learn loads.

Best,
Chris

Welcome Chris, I too am a 68 fan I have the 69 in my avitar and also a 68 waiting to go on the rotisary later this year. Good luck on finding the car of your dreams.

Thanks everyone for the welcome.

4spdragtop, I appreciate that. Looks like a solid car. However, I am a little too old to do major work like this myself and know of no one that I would trust that specializes in Mopar. Even if I did, I'm afraid of how much it would cost! Thanks for the heads-up, though. :D
