3 spd wiper issues

I just bought a 73 Challenger with 3spd wipers. The wipers work, but they don't go back to park? What should I be looking for? The harness is new, but the switch and the motor not.

Park is controlled by the one wire out on top of the can housing the gears being powered when you turn the wipers off.
I'd start there, and if you google search "Mopar three speed wiper diagnosis" I'm sure you will find the specifics.

It appears to be a 4 position switch with a washer function, is there something else I should look at?

So 4 position means 1. Off 2 slow 3 fast 4 variable?

Check that motor is grounded to firewall? There should be a ground jumper there. Maybe a repaint interrupted the path? The switch probably needs to be grounded to the dash also.
