Will be getting the heads for my teen build from the machine shop this week so I'll be able to get most of it together!! Now just wanting to get some suggestions on jet sizes/power valve sizes/squirter sizes for it.

Engine: 318 .030 over.
10.5-11:1 comp
Performer intake w/1" spacer
Lunati cam- .465/.465 228/235 @ .050.
Hooker Super Comp headers 1 5/8" primary 2.5" collecter

Heads: 1.75 I 1.50 E Gasket matched w/port and bowl work. New guides, valves, and valve job. Milled to 60cc chamber volume.

Carb is a Holley 6210 Spread bore 650DP. Rebuilt with a Quick Fuel kit. Current jetting is 65 primary and 85 secondary. 30cc prim pump and 50cc sec pump. High flow .110" needles and seats. Said the kit contained QF's "patented" 4 Door power valves. They have a 6 5 on both of them which I assume is a 6.5. Oh yeah, almost forgot....the squirters!! The prim is a 25 and the sec is a 37.

Oh, and my elevation is around 6000 ft. :) I've been told that the 650 will bog the 318 but I've ran the same carb on a teen in my Dart and it worked great with zero bog and zero hesitation. If I remember correctly I ran a 65 prim and a 87 sec on that one. Hmmm.
Any help/advice is very much appreciated!!!

I hope those heads are closed chambers and the pistons are really close to zero deck and your using a thin head gasket (think good quench) cause if not your in for some tuning challenges with that much compression and smallish cam. Your elevation will help some but it's still a lot of compression for a iron headed engine IMO.

As for the carb tuning I'd start with stock jets and a 5.5 pv and tune from there. At your elevation it should be plenty rich. May have to jet down but it depends on the efficiency of the engine.

What's the rest of the drivetrain consist of? Trans? Converter stall or 4 spd? Gears? Tire size? Car weight? All of that affects tuning and what carb will work best.

When asking for tuning advice remember that the engine is only 1 part in the equation.

BTW: where did you come up with Hooker super comps that have a 2-1/2" collector? All I've seen are 3". Not that it makes that much diff... Just curious.

One last thing. I hope you plan on degreeing the cam in. So many guys ignore that step but in a performance build it's vital IMO. 3-4 yrs. ago I rounded up 4 timing chain sets all good quality but different brands and did some testing and the cam timing from the closest to the worst was 5 degrees diff. And that's just one part of the equation that affects cam timing.

Initial timing would be the first place to start. Probably in the 16-22 range.

Fishy. The head gaskets I planned on using are .039 felpro's.

Trans is a 904 w/tf2. Gears are 3.55 and converter is a 2200-2500 stall.
The headers are the partial fenderwell 5208's for early A.

Thanks cracked I was actually wondering where to start with the timing as well.

Stock jetting on the carb is a few steps smaller. I'd back it down some.

I'd start out with 60 pri, 83 sec if only a primary PV, 60-63 with PV's in both ends.

Just be careful of your total number when bumping up initial timing.
