318 oil pressure

Have a 318 just rebuilt and one problem oil blows out of the dip stick tube oil pressure at idle is 50-55 psi 70 - 75 psi at 4 grand. any suggestions??
 
do you have a crank case ventilation that works properly? it makes a world of diference ;)
had the same problem until i got that sorted out

yep, if you dont it will go to the path of least resistance which would be the dipstick tube. will lead to valve cover leaks and such as well...
 
I'd say you have a problem with ring seal. That's the only way you're gonna build up enough pressure to blow oil out the dipstick. Either the rings haven't seated yet, or they're junk. Do a leakdown check.

what he said...a good sealing engine (ring wise) isnt going to have enough blow by to do that. I'd check it out. dont just repair a possible symptom.
 
By chance, did you install the MoPar oil pump spring into a hi-volume oil pump?
That would be a No N0.
