Will a 1998 360 (5.9), Mopar #R2859448AB, allow me use my 1975 318 external parts? I have conflicting info, yes/no, need to use later accessories with serpentine drive, different timing cover, intake ( I'm currently running an Edelbrock setup), etc. I bought this new motor at 1/2 price without enough research and was hoping to use my earlier 318 equipment, but now I'm in a quandary.:eek:ops:

I am unfamiliar with those part numbers.
A 360 is a external balance and a 318 in internal, that means use of the balancer is out. You need a 360 balancer for that engine.
They use different oil pans.

After that, you should be able to swap everything else from the 318 engine over to the 360.
If the 360 engine is a Magnum, you'll need a Magnum balancer.
If it is a serpentine set up on the 360. Then use of the older belt system will need adjusting with spacers. Maybe you can get away with washers.

A Magnum engine has no provision for a mech. Fuel pump
