340 6 pack pushrod diameter?

Can anyone tell me what the 340 6 pack pushrod diameter was? Or the OA length? I picked up a package deal and found a set of ball cup 7.3ish" OL x 3/8" pushrods and just want to know what they are for.

IIRC, 5/16, please wait on that. I’m not 100% on it. I just never remember hearing anything different.

Correct on the 5/16" diameter for OEM 340-6 pushrods. The length was something like 7.21" or 7.23" with the hydraulic lifters.
273 pushrods with adjustable rockers and solid lifters were 7.50".

The length measurement can be tricky...

Most of us would measure from end to end to get the length... When we built Eddie's engine we found that the manufacturers measure the length from the tip of the ball end to the bottom of the cup on the adjustable lifter pushrods...

So be careful when you talk the length of a pushrod and try to compare it to 'manufacturer specs', there is a difference...

It would be safer to actually tell how you are measuring the pushrods when you talk about the length...
