340 engine color

I have a 1969 Dart Swinger with a 340...red or turquoise for the block :book:

Hemi Orange is the correct colour, bt between those two I'd say red

You may get a few different replies on this one! I went thru the same when I rebuilt mine last winter. I have a 69 also and it was originally turqoise. I know this because when we pulled the motor all the hidden stuff underneath was. I stiil ended up painting it red!

had a 69 barracuda Formual s 340 and it was all oringal bought from the first owner and it was Turquoise.

And from what I have seen all 69 340's were the Turquoise.

Irish, what color are you going to paint your engine compartment / car? If the compartment is red, then maybe go with the turquoise so the engine doesn't get lost in there due to a lack of color contrast. Just my thought anyway.

Engine compartment is the same as the car...black...engine compartment was painted when the car was painted...

With black you can go either colour and it won't get lost in there.
