I recently ran across a 70/71 that was a 340 car it's pretty well picked clean of it's parts but the K member is still in it.
Is there actaully any difference between a 340 and 318 one besides the washer that's welded to it?

What's left of the car!

That is the only difference I know of
The steel rally dash frame is worth something
That is in the car also

i think the 340 k-frame has the tabs for the front swaybar, where i do not know if ALL 318 cars had it

Ok folks....
The Washer was put there to make sure (to idiot proof the production line) that only the 340 K Member was put in the 340 cars.
The 340 K Member has extra welds where the Lower Control Arm Sleeves pass through it for reinforcement.
That is the only and most important difference between the 2 K Members.

Hope this clears this up.

Later,

If they're good and you can get them cheap, grab the k-member, dash interstructure, lower control arms, RH exhaust hanger bracket(s), or any other 340 items still there.

My brother already grabbed the lower control arms for his Dart and yes they do have the sway bar tabs.
The dash cluster itself is gone already. What is actually different in the main structure from a rally to a standard dash?

I do plan on getting the K member.

Cool...was it a stick car? Fender tag, vin, build sheet still there?.....not likely though.
