So I'm running the numbers on the 1969 engine I just got, I decoded the stamping up by the cylinder head but the one by the pan rail I can't find info on it

At first I thought it was the vin but what is the "B" for?

I'm not sure about 69 models, but later 70 and up I believe the B was for the Hamtramck assembly plant.

The assembally plant and other info was on the stamping the is below the drivers side cylinder head front. It was a Windsor car.

Normally the abnormal engine specs are listed on that location as well and the VIN was by the pan rail, however "B" would have ment the crank was .010/.010 undersized. I guess I'll find out if thats the case when I tear it apart.
