340 rockerarms

I've got my valve covers off on my 69 340 . I've noticed on the rh frt side of the engine the 2 rocker arms are not centered over the valves also the lh side back don't really line up too well either . Are these rocker arms different from the others ? I need to know before I put the covers back on . Thanx for the help !!

Try swapping the position of the two rockers that do not line up. The intake and exhaust rockers have a slight offset. If memory serves, they are stamped I and E on the bottom of the rocker, on the pushrod side of the rocker shaft. Once you have the two rockers swapped, you can tell if they are going to line up once you have the rocker shaft bolts snug. If they line up when snugged down, torque the rocker shaft bolts from the center to the ends to 30 pounds in 10 pound increments. Hope this helps. ;)

Hey Charley, driver's side is odd side, front to back..1,3,5,7. Passenger side is even..and 2,4,6,8. Just thought that might make it easier for us to understand . Good luck Terry.
