i've got a 70 340 w/ a rpm air gap and a 750 edelbrock carb just want to know what jet sizes other small block owners are use to get me in the ball park to getting it tuned right.

OOTB jetting should ba a tad rich, but not to bad. What you'll really need to do is look at the plugs and determin which way to go. I'll bet you'll step down 2 jet sizes, but wait until you read the plugs.

Other factors that would effect the jetting is the weather and other engine parts changed out like headers, ignition, air cleaner etc.....

I can tell you mine, but as 'Fish says, its down to cam, weather, engine condition etc.

I ran a 750 Carter AFB for about two years and logged all my jettings -

I found .113 primaries, .101 secondaries and .70x .37 rods worked best at the track - It was a bit "FAT" at cruise but very happy at WOT.

My mildly built 360 with headers, 280H Comp cam and Weiand Stealth manifold runns excellent with an out of the box Edelbrock 1407 750cfm carb. All I did was move the pump shot arm down to the middle hole. Throttle response, performance and plugs are fine. I run a 1" 4 hole plastic spacer also. I'll be doing more tuning later but it's fine for now.

If you have a warmed over 340 with headers the Edelbrock 750 carb should be very close.
