just got a 73 360 w/ 727 trannyout of a truck. Are the 2 barrel heads good heads. Dropping in a 68 dart for street putting little cam in. Not sure about flat tops yet.

well first thing you should take the heads to the machine shop and have them checked. I have had only a few good 360 heads out of at least 50 sets. they are bad about cracking between valves, since it was a truck motor I bet it was really used hard to. Your gonna need a car oil pan and pickup to.

No such thing as a 360 "2 barrel" head. Different castings were usually used on both 2 and 4 barrel 340/360 engines. Your heads should be either 915 or 587 heads (last 3 #'s of the casting) and are good early production heads.

It wouldn't hurt to keep the 1.88" valves also, especially for a mild build, unless the seats are really beat up or valves are sunk. Stainless nailhead valves flow a little bettern than the OEM tulip valves.

Magnum 360 heads are the worst about cracking. But it is a good idea to have these checked anyway.

Does the trans have a short or long passenger-type tailshaft? Some trucks had short tailshafts. You may have to fabricate a driveshaft.

Thanks. Everything looks suprizingly clean motor ran good when removed. Just wondering bout the heads thanks.
