Hi, I have a chance to pick up a "brand new" never used 360/300HP Crate Motor from my brother. He bought it new in 2002 and it has never been installed in a car. I have a 66 dart gt w/273 and am considering installing the crate motor. My questions are: 1. would there be any "Major" issues swaping motors 2. I was going to buy a set of TTI headers. would they fit using the 360?? On TTI's website they say something about certain heads. I have no idea what heads are on this motor

I wouldn't hesitate you can no longer buy factory small block crates, unless you spend the big bucks on the six pack setup! You'll need motor mounts and an oil pan( I think) the crate i think are magnums or j heads and the tti will work

Hi John, you can get some new 360 mounts through schumacher kits, also the TTI,s will work fine(they would be talking about the w-series heads)which the crate engines don,t have. While you do the swap you may want to notch out your tranny crossmember for better clearance for dual exhaust. You may also need a 90degree oil filter adapter.I have a new(500 mile)2500 stall torque convertor for sale if interested. It will help with the performance upgrades.PM if you have any questions,as I,ve turned my 66 Dart into a BEAST!LOL

The # 14 footnote says that that the headers should fit the heads listed but that they can't guarantee fit on any not listed.

I'm curious...is that a 360/300hp Commando version with the shaft mounted rockers and 5 bolt valve covers or the 360/300hp Magnum version with individual rockers and 10 bolt valve covers? Either one would be considered having OEM heads. But if you get a neutral balanced converter, you'll need a specifically different B&M flexplate for
either one because the early/Commando 360 is externally balanced differently than the newer Magnum versions.

Thanks again for the trans. Had a great visit.
