I pulled out the factory 318 out of my barracuda and am building a 408 stroker for it. The block is a 1973 LA 360 with a Molner rotating assy for 408 ci and wondering what is recommended for an oil pan and oil pump pick up for it. I want plenty of clearance and wanted recommendations on the pan and oil pump pickup type to match. I have a high volume oil pump but don't have the pick up tube yet. This will be a 525 hp/540 ft lb engine. Thanks,

Brian

One choice is a Kevko oil pan and matching pickup. It will add a quart of oil over stock, has some oil control features and will clear headers and will not require any frame notching like some Milodon pans.

I'll second the Kevko pan. We used one on a 408 build and have a 416 going together that will use a Kevko also.

I third the Kevco recommendation. It works well on the avatar's 408 and was spic and span upon arrival. I have the same oil pump as you and have seen zero issues running low 11's so far.
