Ok,this is for you guys that have been building / running 360 stuff for awhile. I always had and run 340's, (still have two) but with them both having been bored now I figured I better go ahead and start trying to put a couple of 360 blocks in the bank for future use. My question is, which year block would be the most desireable for casting quality etc. Anything else to look for or be aware of?

Personally I would look for a late 80's block, these blocks have taller lifter bores and have provisions for the factory roller lifter spider.

I have also heard that the early 70's blocks have thicker walls but I have also heard that there is no difference.

I agree with Dave. If nothing else that era of blocks gives you more flexability in the type of build you want.

Pick up any year one you can if the price is right. Can't have to many if you have the room.

Thanks for the input guys. I'll start my search for a couple of blocks this weekend.
