360 timing?

Hey guys I know this question has probably been asked a million times but what is the timing for a stock 360?

i know this is gheto, but listening to the engine as you play with the disributor works surpisingly well

The engine is a '85. I do not know what the model is.

Hey guys I know this question has probably been asked a million times but what is the timing for a stock 360?

YMMV, but for my '74 360 and the several 318's I've fiddled with, the timing has been 5* BTDC. Ought to be a decent starting point anyway.

If you do not need to pass the states sniffer test, hook a vacuum gauge up to a full time vacuum port and twist that distrib. until you reach the highest vacuum reading, re-set carb idle speed, and be done with it.

I did what rumblefish said and it works very well you may have to dial it back a bit when your done to prevent detonation or run premium gas.
