360 tranny on 318

-
yes..the trans will fit just fine...

watch out for weights on the torque converter...

318 does not use weights on the converter...

Also if you had a 904, and in a car you will have to change ends/lenght on the driveshaft.

Change ends? You mean the drive shaft will need to be changed as well?
About the weights should they be removed or are they ment to stay on being that it came with them?
Thanks guy's.

take the weights off the 360 converter if you are going to bolt it up to a 318, the yoke ends are also different and the drive shaft will will need to be shortened

Make sure you take off the correct weight. The converter has weights on the outer perimeter that balance it. These are thin metal weights. You want to leave them on. The 360 specific weight is welded to the front (engine) side of the torque converter and there is only one that's a block of steel about 1-1/2" long by 3/8~1/2" wide. That's the one to take off. Or you can use the torque converter from your original trans. if it's a 727 also and the right input shaft spline count.
