I am new to engine rebuilding. The motors is a 1977 360 out of a RV. The motor had 29k miles on it. The oil looked ok, not milky or gray in color. I left the pistons and rings alone and did not touch the crank. I installed a new cam, lfters and reconditioned heads. New gaskets and new intake. I motors sounds great, no ticks or knocks. There are signs of water in the valve covers, the oil on the dip stick looks ok. I dont know if I did something wrong or maybe the block is cracked. Any ideas, thanks....:banghead:

Remove your radiator cap and start the engine. Do you see any bubbles in the coolant?

are you putting out white smoke? is your crankcase ventilation healthy ? it could just be condensation. do you have pics of the insides of the covers? is the water substantial or just a hint?

Also, when you installed your intake, did you use any kind of sealant on the bolts?

Could be sucking some coolant in somewhere.

Might.........just...........be............condensation. Run it long enough to get it nice and warm. Full temp. Watch the oil for "color." Watch for overheating, over-pressure in the cooling system.

Thanks for the fast replies, the top of the valve covers looks like alot of water kinda thick, I dont see any bubbles in the radiator. I did use sealer on the intake bolts. I am new to the mopar world, do the head bolts go into the water passage. I did not seal those bolts?

The truck has stacks on it, it does look like its always cold. The heat gets hot..
