Hello, I have a 37 Imperial that had been completely restored and was in beautiful condition. Tragically last spring the pole shed it was stored in collapsed from snow load. Insurance company totalled the car but I kept it hoping to possibly save it. The roof of the car took the biggest hit, collapsing the drivers side to the point of not being able to open the driver's side doors. My question is, are there any other Mopar models that would have the same roof that could be used as a donor? 4 door sedan, c4 is the model number I believe. Thanks for any help. Desperately trying to save this beautiful car.

Make a convertible sedan out of it? Leave the windshield surround and cut off the roof and door tops, add a convertible top?
There are metal magicians on the B-side that can save that.

I've seen good metal men that could straighten that. They would probably cut the roof off, straighten it and put it back on.

Looks like that was a beautiful car. I would think the 37-38 Plymouth, Dodge, and Desoto roofs are close to the same, although each one has a different wheelbase, so the length on each one would be slightly different. I would love to have one of the 37 Imperials. What was yours appraised at? You can send me a PM if you don't want to post it on here. I have a friend that has an original 37 with 21,000 miles, he seems to think it's worth 100,000.00. It's nice but I don't think so.

If that was my car, I would be DAMNED if I would cut the roof off or it. That can be fixed by a good bodyman. I believe the doors can also be repaired. That would be my suggestion. Beautiful old car, though.

That would be the only way I would endorse cutting the roof off. Fix that one and put it back on.

Guessing from the picture, the pillar post is bowed. Large door gaps between doors at bottom.

Couple years back a buddy picked up a 38 Plymouth truck that had similar damage... Trying to help I found him a dodge cab, but instead he found an old bodyman that fixed it for him... More than 90% of the damage was fixed the first day.... That last 7-9% took the reast of the week.... No plastic filler, perfect gaps.. He insisted that old thick steel is easier to work than the stuff used these days...
