383 B block

Mostly little thing, Intake and heads will be the big differances. It also depends on if its a HP motor are a non hp motor.

Carbs will be differant from car to car and autos will be differant the manula trans cars.

67 is the lowest out put of the 67-69 A bodu 383 cars because on the small cam and restrictive exhaust manifolds.

So its mainly the cam on that then? I thought the exhaust manifolds for a 383 were all the same thru 67-69 bucause of that squashed one on the drivers side?

JJ

I dont think they did cuz we used to have a 68 383, and I thought they were the same, but id still be interested to here what u find out.

Thanks
JJ

I dont think the years on these are right but there are 2 differant sets.

383 1968-69 Barracuda & Dart / Right 2863000
383 1968-69 Barracuda / Left 2899002
383 1968-69 Barracuda& Dart / Right 2863900
383 1968-69 Barracuda & Dart / Left 2946720

Found my book.

67 used 289002 drivers side / 2863900 passanger side.

68-69 used 2946729/2863900 So just the driverside is differant on 67s.

67 also used a differant head#2406516

intake casting # 2205968

Carb # 4298S or 4309S with the clean air package for a 383 4-speed.

first number is for non clean air cars.

The book is The Challenger and Barracuda Restoration guide 1967-1974.

The 67 had the lowest output also because of the valve sizes 2.08 and 1.60 not 1.74 like the newer heads. Also the exhaust side ports are very restrictive compared to all of the newer heads - (Have a pair and How to make power with Mopar book says so also.)
