383 oilpan numbers

Hi Guys, can anyone give me the correct number stamped on the oil pan that i need for my 1967 383 barracuda swap. the interchange manual states that a 1967-68 pn# is 2863892 for the 383, but i need the number stamped on the pan for easy i.d. The one on my transplant is stamped 187 and it rubs on the center link, all i'm after is one that will work, or a center link that will. thanks for your help Gerry

The number you're looking for is 893. The same for yrs 67-69 all BB a bodies.

The 187 is close to correct and you've already got one. You can dent the pan where it hits in most cases without issue.

Thanks guys for the quick response. being that i've got the 187 on and it's close as Jim says, i'll trying a little gentle bodywork on it first, being careful as not to interfer with the oil pickup. thanks again Gerry

This thread interests me since I will be swapping a 383 in my Scamp.
Everything I read says the 699 and 187 pans work with no problem.
I wonder why you are getting interference with yours.
Do you have an update? Did you massage it and make it work?
