I bought a 4 door 74 Valiant last week to rob some parts from. The main thing I wanted was the factory bucket seats in them. I tried putting the driver seat in my 73 Duster tonight and realized the tracks are quite different. The tracks on the buckets are made to mount to a flat floor, but the Duster has the angled hump on either side where the bench seats mount.
Do I need to just buy 2 door bucket seat tracks and they'll swap over to these seats, or am I out of luck on these seats? I'd like to find out before I junk the bench I have.
Also is there any easy way to make the seat backs fold forward for rear seat access, or is messing with that asking for trouble?
Thanks a lot,
Jon

Is the four door a column shift or floor shift? I was thinking of installing some buckets in my 4-door dart and wasnt sure if it was a factory option!

It was a column shift. It has the little seat/armrest in between the two buckets. "Buddy seat" is what they called them, right? Those have the brackets welded to the tunnel for the seat, so I'm assuming it was from the factory. If you saw the car, you'd be sure no one went through the trouble to add them in there that nicely.

the angle peice is only for mounting the bench to the bucket seats mount to a different set of holes. If you still have the four door I'm sure it will have the angled hump as well.

hahaha...I didn't even think of that. I was curious why it was sitting so close to the door. I'll see how it looks tomorrow when I get back in the garage. I'll just have to fill a bunch of holes in now.
Thanks,
Jon
