71 Duster w/340, 30 over Ross dome pistons, 660 roller cam, W-2 heads, Norris stainless steel roller rocker arms, Holley strip dominator, 1050 dominator carb, 3.58 stroke crank w/340 sized mains, 6.385 length eagle "h" beam rods, old school dual point dist.,"H" pattern shifter, brass clutch, 2600# pressure plate, Dana-60 w/617 gears, spool & 40 spline axels, ladder bars W/floater, 6-cyl torsion bars W/90/10 shocks, Hemi box W/293 first gear Pro shift 2nd gear and face tooth 3rd & 4th, 3100# w/driver,runs 6.30s in 1/8 mile gears to low for 1/4 mile but I timed it once at Va. motorsports park, I pushed the clutch in at the 1/8 mile mark and coasted thru the 1/4 mile traps at 11.20 at only 80 MPH.

Nice combo , but why still dual point ? I understand the " if it ain't broke " deal , but even this guy got rid of his some time ago. :D

Nice ride!!! I'm from the dual point era, so I do think that's cool.

With that combo, i can just hear the rpm's now...:cheers: Fantastic!
 
You're right if it ain't broke don't fix it. I tried an electronic racing ignition from Mopar Performance. The motor didn't sound right with it. I still have it so I know I will try it again someday.
 
how many motors have you gone thru?

when I was bracket racing I use the old Mallory yl's, as long as I kept the points clean the motor was deadly consistent.
 
I've maybe went thru 5 or 6 in the past 33 years. Not to bad. Mine is consistent too, and the plugs last forever so I just leave the points in it.
