So my 70 340 duster is finally going to be taken out of the backyard so i can start its restification. Its and arizona car so rust is zero(and its been sitting for at least 20 years...) but it was hit in the rear.. i will get to that eventually, in the mean time, i want to drive it.
for this forum, my question revolves around replacing the 3 speed with a 4 speed. I have an 883 to put in, but what i really want to put in it is an od aluminum case/cast iron tail shaft 883 i pulled from a truck. i know the shifter is in the wrong position with this tailshaft housing and want to know if i can swap the one from the 3 speed, if not my memory says i cans swap the one off my standard 4 speed.
to answer the whys... i have a 71 duster that runs 10's, thats great but i want to drive this one on the road and get some mpg's to go along with.
