I am gathering parts to swap the 42rh into my 70 Dart, however I am not sure on the speedo cable. I have read 80".

I have an aftermarket speedometer which has the 5/8-18 threaded end, which I can find, but not sure on the trans side, size. Is 7/8 the right size for trans side?

1967 dart PN# ATP Y-803 cable should be 83" long and have the correct ends for a stock threaded end speedometer. A 5/8" fitting on the speedometer end, and 7/8" fitting on the transmission end.

Hope this helps
Matt

Do your research to verify.

I bought an ATP Y-801 for my sons 69 cuda getting a 42RH. It has the 7/8" end for the trans, and a plug in end for the speedometer, this cable is 80" long. 83" shouldn't be bad. It gives you 3 more inches to work with to route it.

Thank you! I just wasn't sure what the trans end was. Rock Auto is pretty good on their descriptions of the parts.
