So I'm working on a 68 Valiant that has factory power brakes.Toying with the idea to replace the 273 with a 440 that I have.Question is will the 440 fit with the booster ?

If I remember right you need to replace the factory booster with a mini style, or a hydro boost setup to put a big block in there and have power brakes.

I could be wrong, and there may be other options that I don't know about.

Thanks. It has the small 7 inch booster now.I may go either way.Going with new disc setup. The engine will be mild but I'm sure it will be better with power brakes for a street driver.

I think it will fit, but I'm not a fan of power brakes in an A-body, even with a big block.

Yeah, I'm kinda on the fence about it too. I'm a non power steering/brakes kinda guy. I did a 63 Valiant with both because the wife wanted to drive it..Never once did she slide behind the wheel in 4 years of ownership.

It will fit with the 67-70 A-Body booster.

It will be tight at the fill if you go vintage on the valve cover.

The offset kit is used with manual brakes. The stock power setup uses an offset bracket (up and out, but not to the side).

My wife daily drove our GTS convertible back when we were young (manual drums) with no issue. She also drove our old '67 Barracuda fastback with manual discs after the booster failed and I didn't want to spend to money on a new one.
