4BBL intake and carb swap

Hello all, it's been along time since i've swapped a 4bbl inake and carb onto a 318. The issue im running into is the kickdown rod ajustment. Whats the best way at going at this?:clock:
 
You can do like this picture below. Just a bolt and lock nut with washers on each side so it slides easy with the locking nut not tight to the linkage. Once you get the right position of the linkage, tighten it up.

IF you go this route, you need to make sure the linkages work as intended and the rear of is positioned correctly, slightly rearward it should tilt when the throttle is fully closed.

The second picture shows the linkage in the WRONG POSITION at the rear. It must be moved backwards towards the driver more.

You may have a slight offset to the linkage. I have had no issue with it slightly offset, 3rd & 4th picture.
