What clearance's should I have on the rod & main bearings on a 440 RB stroked to a 505 ? 440Source 512 kit .
95% street driven Automatic with a 3800 rpm stall Dynamic converter .
Thanks guys

Donnie my machinist told me he likes to see .00095" per inch of the journal diameter for a perf. engine. A little tighter for a grocery getter. I don't know the journal diameters of your crank but an example would be if your rod journals were 2" you'd want .0019-.002" clearance for a perf engine. About .0015" for a grocery getter. For a 3" journal it'd be approx. .0029-.003" for a perf. engine and .0025 for a grocery getter.

Thanks for the reply .....
I plan on starting on it today , hopefully 600+HP when completed :)

Mains I accept between .0015-.003. Rods .002-.003. If you carefully measure everything, you will note that the stuff will fit that range... but it will use the entire range...lol. Perfect would be .0023-.0025 on mains and .0025 on rods. On average, you'll find some of that with them too. Dont forget the chamfering of the rod bearings...
