I am looking for a good 518 trans or the 904 equivalent overdrive transmission. I could use a good core but I prefer a ready to bolt on trans. I am located in Austin Tx. If any FABO members have one for sale or trade please let me know. Thanks.

FYI they made many versions how ever they fall into 2 major ones (RH/RE)
RH -hydraulic operated
RE- electric/ecu
they made sub versions 46-passenger car light truck/47 HD mostly found in 2500/3500 trucks vans

A518 (46RH/46RE)[edit]
The A518, later renamed 46RH (hydraulic controlled governor pressure) and 46RE (electronic controlled governor pressure), is an A727 derivative with overdrive, in the A500 ilk. Starting in 1990, it was used in some trucks and vans. The overdrive fourth gear ratio is 0.69:1.

Gear ratios:

1 2 3 4 R
2.45 1.45 1.00 0.69 2.35

Help me out here. So which one would be good to put behind a 450hp 360 magnum with 3.55 gears in the rear?

A618 /47/rh (probably equivalent to a HD hemi 727 unit) do it once ...alot of truck shops (hp pulling) diesel// do these and the 48's they will be able to recommend a torque converter also.... units have been built to handle 1500 ft lbs of torque !!!!!
