Im building a 572 pump gas motor in my backhalfed 70 Duster. Ive got 14x32 and I'm wondering what gear i need t go to?

Depends what you want to do with the car. Street driving, drag racing, Bonneville?

I had an approx. 600h.p. 406 sbc in a vega, 14x32`s w/ a 4:10 rear end. worked out about 3:73 or so if I remember. Drove it to work, 28 miles each way, at least once a week. Got a kick out of embarrising porches and corvettes ! With a motor of ur size, I would go 3:55`s for the street, would still haul *** on the dragstrip.

For a drag car just figure out how fast it will go in the traps and then use the redline of the engine to determine the rear gear. For example, if you want to cross the stripe at 135 mph and 6500 rpm then you need a 4.56 gear with a 32 inch tire.
