A motor can
Initially about 5 lbs boost. If all goes well, perhaps 20lbs.-manifold. Going to Bonneville,(the long white dyno). First goal is 200mph. This will require approx. 550 hp. Skilled advice please ? Thanks, ateam.
>> Better to lo-ball than hi, on the hp. 5 psi is likely the slowest blower speed. Pic's of car "might" be in Bonneville archives under "original" BFMR, #911, stretched wb., deuce. The current team of Davidson, Beck, Cummins and Thornbury, are using the 911# from Snow Thornbury's original car, last run in 06' ? This is the car schedualled to get a Gen III. Cheers, ateam.Me thinks you will have much more than 550 HP. Any pics of the car your going to do this with?

9" third member ratios, up the yazoo. 4 speed Lenco with 31% over in 4th. Plan is, to use just-enough boost to make 200mph. Remember, this is usually about 7,000 ft., corrected altitude. Onward, flyingwedge:burnout:got the correct gearing to reach that speed and will the engine last under a sustained load? and i do agree you should make more then 550 on 20psi. sounds like a sweet ride for that!
.. I believe this car has been near 280, at Bonneville. "The line is our friend, keep it on the line". Thanks, flyingwedge.\\/as long as your car is stable for that high of a speed i think you have it wooped sir! best of luck
The GMC blower is about the least efficient, of the rootes types. This is made worse at 7,000 ft. corrected altitude. The only thing helping this set up, is some cooling effect from the methanol. No sense boosting the motor, more than it needs to do the job. If (2) new drivers can go 200, with no drama, we'll have job accomplished. Onward, flyingwedge.:cya:There is a 6.1 street Chally at our local track that is making well over 600HP with a blower and headers, cam, heads. He has 9 PSI pullys. 550 HP - lowball estimate IMO.
